This is the 1st race of the Michigan Half Marathon Series. It will be the 4th year that The Chip River Run has been hosted. All races will start and finish along the fun and naturistic trail systems that the City of Mt. Pleasant maintains for its community. There are 5 beautiful parks that the 10k and half marathon will run through. This course is spectator friendly and there are plenty of things for family and friends to do during or after the event.

Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via email to email@example.com. Without exception, all requests must be received on or before the Tuesday of the race week to be eligible for a partial refund of $15. Transfers or deferments are permitted.

All age group awards are a code that can be used online when ordering the free shoes or registering for a future race for free. All codes will be e-mailed out on the Monday after each event.

Things to do While Waiting During and After the Race:
Spectators will have all sorts of things to do while waiting. Island park has a skate park, water park, an extremely large play place, multiple softball and baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, horse shoe pits.....shoot! You can even play shuffle board around the finishing stretch!!! Bring the family, invite your friends (CMU alumni gatherings!?!?) and enjoy the downtown Mt. Pleasant area as it blossoms into the spring season

All races are on an out and back route with a short loop at the end to turn each race around. The 5k will be on all pavement following along the Chippewa River making multiple bridge crossings. The half marathoners and 10kers will experience the same route but continue to Veit's Woods. The 10k runners will run a loop around Veit's Woods and then head back to Island Park. The half marathoners will finish their portion of the race by running 3.5 miles on some of Mt. Pleasant's most difficult side streets.
